General

The college library is located above the college premises. All faculty members and students have access. The library comprises two sections:

  • Reference Books,
  • Borrowable Books

Library Timings: 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Library Services

  • Each student is entitled to a library card.
  • Each individual is allowed to borrow only one book at a time.
  • When returning a book, the library card must be presented.
  • If fines are incurred, they must be paid before obtaining another library card.
  • Requests for a particular book can be made to the librarian anytime during college hours.
  • On the day of withdrawal from college or during holidays, students must obtain a No Dues Certificate from the librarian. A Transfer Certificate will not be issued without this certificate.
  • The prescribed fee for borrowing a book must be paid on or before the due date. If the due date falls on a holiday, the book must be returned on the next working day.
  • Failure to return a book to the library at the appointed time may result in a penalty.
  • Writing, underlining, or damaging books in any way is strictly prohibited. The borrower is responsible for any damages incurred to the borrowed books.

For Borrowers

When a book is lost, the borrower must purchase a new copy of the book and pay the fine for late return.

  • If a book is lost or damaged, it must be reported immediately to the librarian. An additional fee will be charged for late reporting. If the book is not replaced within three months, the full cost of the book must be paid.
  • If a book borrowed from one section is found to be missing, the borrower will be charged for the entire section of books.
  • If a student is found to be negligent in returning books on time, or fails to pay fines for late returns, or misuses the library facility, the principal has the authority to suspend the student from library usage.
  • No book loans are allowed during the exam period.
  • Students must maintain discipline in the library. Misconduct or disturbance of library activities is prohibited.
  • Additional textbooks required beyond the allotted ones should not be kept by any faculty member for more than a month.

Book Returns

  • After the specified borrowing period ends, if anyone else requests the same book, the librarian may recall the book from the borrower and provide it to the new requester.
  • When returning a book, it must be presented to the librarian for verification.
  • Magazines or newspapers should not be taken out of the library premises.
  • During exam times, borrowing books is not permitted.

Book Viewing Rules

  • Books for viewing can be accessed from the library between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
  • Books for viewing should not be taken out of the library premises.
  • Upon selecting a book, it must be registered at the reception, and after reading, it should be returned to the librarian.
  • In the event of any damage to these books, the last borrower will be held responsible.

Books for Viewing

  • Books for viewing can be accessed from the library between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
  • Books for viewing should not be taken out of the library premises.
  • For the special service of book viewing: Upon requesting a book, it must be obtained from the librarian, and once read, it should be returned to the librarian.
  • If any damage occurs to these books, the last borrower will be held responsible.
